Terms of use

Thank you for your interest in "Commerzbanker", the Commerzbank AG online employee magazine. This page is to inform you of the terms of use for this website. These terms of use are updated regularly and are valid at the time of your use in the current version, even without express consent, as soon as you use this offer.

Please note as well our privacy policy.

Commercial property rights, rights of use, content

This website contains data and information of all kinds, such as published written works, photographs and illustrations, videos and other content, which Commerzbank provides free of charge and in principle for the user’s own non-commercial purposes only. All contents of this website are protected by commercial property rights such as trademarks and copyright and also the right to one’s own image in favour of Commerzbank or, in individual cases, in favour of third parties too, and remain in their entirety with the respective rights holder.

You may quote from or link to publicly-offered content if you cite the source, provided this is within the limits of the right to quote according to Section 51 of the German Copyright Act (UrhG). The contents of this website may only be used for commercial or advertising purposes with the prior written consent of Commerzbank. All unauthorised use of contents, such as forwarding or republishing whole articles or text extracts under one’s own name in the original wording or in edited form, is prohibited. Where use is permitted, the contents may not be changed; in particular copyright notices or other references to the rights or property of third parties may not be changed or removed.

If you wish to use the content of this website, please send an e-mail to pressestelle@commerzbank.com.

We expressly offer no warranties for the accuracy, completeness, reliability, suitability, timeliness and usefulness of the content on this website. The information provided, in particular notes, recommendations and information, is intended solely as general and non-binding information. Contributions attributed by name do not necessarily reflect an official position of Commerzbank.

There is no entitlement to use this website. Maintenance work, technical failures or errors may cause it to be unavailable. Commerzbank expressly reserves the right to change or delete parts of pages or the entire offer without issuing a separate announcement and therefore does not guarantee that this website as a whole or any part thereof is or will be permanently available.

Despite all efforts, it cannot be entirely excluded that damage may be caused by use of the website, for example if third parties attempt to misuse it to spread viruses or similar, despite all security precautions. Use of the contents of the website is at your own risk.

Claims against Commerzbank or named authors for loss or damage of any kind caused by using the information provided or accessing this website with your computer are generally excluded, unless there is evidence of wilful intent or gross negligence on the part of Commerzbank or the author. In the event of injury to life, limb or health, we do not exclude liability for simple negligence.

Liability for external contents

The content of external websites or social media platforms that can be accessed via hyperlinks from this website or that refer to this page are third-party content over which Commerzbank has no influence and for which no guarantee is given. These references or links in no way represent an evaluation, recommendation or appropriation of the data and information provided there. The same applies to contents of users that have been published on our site.

We are generally not liable for third-party content or web offers that can be accessed via this website and expressly disassociate ourselves from all linked external content that comes under criminal or liability law or offends common decency. The operators of the linked pages are solely responsible for the content thereof. It is not possible to constantly check external content which we do not adopt as our own, nor do we aim to do so. At the latest after notification of a possible infringement, we will of course immediately check and remove the corresponding links, references or comments. Similarly, we do not offer any guarantee that the links will function.

No business communication

Under no circumstances does this website serve to provide information about offers and products of Commerzbank, to prepare or process business transactions, to provide information about business transactions or to communicate with customers or business partners. The articles published here do not constitute a recommendation or basis for decision-making and are not a substitute for personal customer advice. You can find the appropriate contact person for product-related inquiries here.

Where we offer the ability to make contact by email or in other ways on the pages of the online magazine, these expressly do not serve as business communication. For your own security, inquiries from customers or business partners about banking transactions cannot be processed either on these pages or via the contact options offered here.

Access to the non-public part

Commerzbank employees and retirees can log in to the non-public part of the employee magazine via the Commerzbank Diversity Portal. This requires registration in the Diversity Portal, using an employee number and a private e-mail address. This access is not transferable; individual access data must be treated as confidential and is solely intended for use by you personally. Unauthorised log-ins, disclosure and misuse of access data are prohibited. You are liable for all consequences of third-party use if you are responsible for the misuse of access data.

Use of the comment function in the non-public part

The following applies to the use of the comment function in the non-public part of the online magazine:

Authorised users can post their own thoughts, arguments, opinions and other content as comments under their real name. However, the functioning of the comment function is not guaranteed, nor is there any entitlement to publication of comments. The Bank reserves the right to change or switch off the comment function at any time. Anyone who posts comments agrees to the processing and storage of the data required for this purpose. Please also note the privacy policy for this website.

Comments posted will be saved indefinitely and remain visible to other internal readers for an unlimited period unless deleted by the authors themselves. Provided no replies have been posted, the comment will disappear entirely if deleted by the author. If replies have already been given, the name of the author will be anonymised and the content replaced by a note: “Comment deleted by author. Replies to the deleted comment will be retained.”

If employees leave the Bank, any comments they have written will be anonymised the following working day. The contents of the comments will be retained.

Readers’ comments are released directly and without prior checking. Comments are not censored. Each user is responsible for the contributions they publish. Under no circumstances may confidential information and data be communicated using the comment function. Comments reflect solely the opinion of the author. The same ‘netiquette’ rules apply as for the Bank’s intranet. The editors reserve the right to delete comments that violate applicable law or the Bank’s ‘netiquette’ rules. If third parties make claims based on the contributions you have posted, you undertake to indemnify us against their claims and any legal costs that may be associated with them.

In addition to these General Terms and Conditions of Use, our data protection provisions and the law of the Federal Republic of Germany shall apply. The place of performance and jurisdiction is Frankfurt am Main.

We do not recognise any provisions deviating from these Terms and Conditions unless they are confirmed by us in writing. In the event that individual provisions of these General Terms and Conditions of Use prove legally invalid in whole or in part or become legally invalid in whole or in part at a later date, this shall be without prejudice to the validity of the remainder hereof. In place of the invalid stipulation, the legal provisions shall apply. The same applies if there are any omissions in the General Terms and Conditions of Use.
